Alisa composed this special song when she felt discouraged and lacking as a role model for the youth. She's a former member of ZOE girl. I believe every artist can easily relate to the lines and so do ordinary people. As we play our part at life's center stage, even as Christians, there are times we still feel not good enough and simply insecure. This song is a good reminder that it's not about us but about God. Life is about Him and not about our performance.

THE TRUTH IS by Alisa Childers
Smile for the cameras
Turn the lights on
Take the stage
Be brave
Have some brilliant words to say
Its time to turn it on
But today was a bad day
If they only knew what I’m really made of
They would walk away
Oh but still they say, “I’m a hero”
But the truth is
I’m afraid to be alone
and the truth is I’m not always that strong
That’s why if I make this about me
It won’t succeed
I need You desperately
I don’t feel like it
But as they say “the show must go on”
Break a leg
All the tickets are paid
And the crowd awaits
But the truth is I’m not good enough
And the truth is I don’t deserve Your love
That’s why if I make this about me
It won’t succeed
I need You desperately
And so I lift my hands to heaven and pray
God have mercy for this day
Give me strength
Let the people know Your grace
Give me strength
Let the people see Your face
Because the truth is You alone are God
And the truth is You are high and lifted up
And I will praise You even when I don’t understand
I will praise You when the future looks grim
And I will praise You when my records are played
And I will praise You when I can’t give them away
And I will praise You
I will praise You
