A professor hosted a small gathering for his former college students. He set different cups of coffee ranging from cheap paper cups to fancy china cups. As soon as his students came, he asked them to fix themselves their own cup of coffee. Little did the students know that they are being observed by the professor. When everyone has their own cup of coffee, the professor noticed that everyone chose the fancy looking cups.
Then he started the conversation by saying: Is it the coffee or the cup? Everyone of us wants a coffee -- a good tasting one, of course. Unconsciously, we try to reach a fancy-looking cup too! Then, we look at our cup and compare it to another 's cup. We know that the taste of the coffee stays the same no matter which cup we choose, but for some reason we always feel like someone got a better cup of coffee. What do we really want? Is it the coffee or the cup?
What does cup represent in your life? How about coffee?
